Give gameobject shield on collision

Hello,

I am a beginner programmer and game developer, I don’t have much knowledge yet but I am stuck at the moment.
Situation: When I throw a gameobject (cube) at another gameobject (cylinder), I want that cube to become a shield of the cylinder when it hits, but I have no idea on where to begin with that.
If anyone could help me out. that would be greatly appreciated.

Since “shield of the cylinder” isn’t a Unity or programming concept, you’ll have to explain in detail what that exactly means in the context of your game.
