Gizmo bug

Why do all of my gizmos (assuming that’s what they’re called–referring to the little speaker icon for audio sources, projector icon for projector components, camera icons for camera objects, etc.) appear like little white boxes?

Next to the grass plane is the white box that is supposed to be an audio source of some kind. That’s what it appears as in editor view. This should not be the case, and only became this way when I upgraded to Unity 3.2.

Any ideas?

I’m having a similar type of problem where my camera gizmo and the camera projection lines are not showing up in the scene view. I’m also not seeing any textures being rendered in scene view as well. It’s driving me nuts, I may have to just reinstall Unity and see if that fixes it. :frowning:

Still no luck after reinstalling. Here is an image of my issue.

It is an empty scene with the main camera selected. Notice there is not projection wires or icon visible. Any one have a clue about this? It is quite annoying and I’m not sure how or why it started doing this.

Hope someone can help figure this issue out or at least a way to completely wipe things out so I can try a true clean install.

It is probably worth trying Window > Layouts > Revert Factory Settings here but if that doesn’t work, please can you file a bug report for this issue?

I went ahead and filed a bug report a few days ago as I tried deleting my Unity folders under AppData (which wiped out my window layout settings) to no avail.

I’ll try the Revert Factory Settings option when I’m back at my home machine. If I figure anything out I’ll definitely post it up here.

Same problem here.

New project doesn’t have that problem for now.

Ok, I was able to get rid of this issue, I’m currently unable to replicate it though.

As to how I got rid of it:

  1. Uninstalled.
  2. Deleted Unity folder from Program Files.
  3. Deleted Unity folders from all AppData folders.
  4. Deleted Unity registry entries.
  5. Rebooted and Reinstalled.

Hope that helps anyone else that comes across this issue.

Thanks for information, but reinstall didn’t work for me…

But I managed to pinpoint the cause. I have a “blob shadow projector” on my FirstPersonController, and when I remove it gizmos are back, visible as they should be (change is not seen immediately, save and reopen the project).

Also, if i play with Far and Near Clip Plane values of projector, gizmos are partially drawn or arrays of little gizmos appear, depending on clip plane values, and in console sometimes pops up an error:
