I am using the global fog setting but now for some reason it doesnt fill the black space where there is no objects, the fog just covers the objects itself. Does anyone know why this would happen, I must have changed something but not sure what as it was ok before.
I have noticed this recently too. In my game, if I climb somewhere that lets me see over the hills, i can see the area where the terrain “drops off” and a distinct edge of where land ends and void begins.
Has this not always been the case since 5.1 or do you mean it was fine before 5.1?
i upgraded to 5 and was working fine but noticed unity had a further update (latest one at this time) so installed that but not sure if it happened since installing that…i havent had a chance to play around with it properly but when i changed one of the skyboxes it seemed to go back to how it was, it needs further looking at though but thats all i’ve changed so far to get the fog back…
So changing which skybox you’re using brings back the fog?
It wouldn’t be a coincidence that the “void” of the working skybox is the same colour as your fog would it? I hope not, as I’d like to figure this out too.
i’ll try and have a proper look tonight or tomorrow (looking after kids at the moment) but i think you might be right, coincidence, it works for what i want though, its on http://www.2dgamemania.co.uk/fog.jpg if you want a look…
Looks to be spot on. I have the problem of various heights in the distance, and the skybox changes shade the higher it goes - looks very amateur hour unfortunately.
