Global Game Jam 2014

Have anyone been to the GGJ14 this year?

For people who are not aware of game jams, GGJ is a global (and free) gamedev event throughout most countries, where people come together from Friday to Sunday in an attempt to complete a small game from start to finish. The teams are often at random, about 4 to 6 members.
For me, it was my first time jamming. We didnt get the chance to polish the gameplay, but overall it was a good effort and a fun experience. http://globalgamejam.org/2014/games/overload

Would love to see if some of you guys also participated in ggj or a similar event

Is this an annual event? I was competely unaware they were hosting one of the events very nearby. Well, next time then.

Yeah, ggj is once a year in January, all running simultaneously. In Belgium its also the only jam, but in countries like u.s. you can find one weekly.

Yeh I attended the local event in Bristol, UK
Was also my first time too, and such an incredible experience. So hectic, so panicked, somehow we pulled it together in the end and in our local site our game came 3rd overall we won an additional award for ‘ingenuity’, which we were super pleased with.

Your game looks cool CGPepper, gonna check it out when I get home

Ours is here http://globalgamejam.org/2014/games/mutable
and here’s some of the other awesome games from our site http://globalgamejam.org/2014/jam-sites/bristol/games

I was at GGJ Sydney this year (and last year!) and had an amazing time yet again. The motivational boost that you get from being thrown into a hot house with other creative and talented nerds is like nothing else you can experience.

Here is our game! http://globalgamejam.org/2014/games/psyco-path

True, there is some motivational value in jams. When you see how much you can get done in just one day, it forces you to re-evaluate the way you approach certain tasks
