Glowing texture problems

Hello everyone. I have a little problem and am hoping someone might know the solution.

I’ve been playing with using daz models in unity. I’ve gotten them to work well in game, but the hair textures always seem to have a weird glowing effect.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this (and how to fix it)?

Extra info :

They only glow when near a light source. When it’s nearly pitch black, there’s no glowing at all.

What kind of material / shader are you using for your hair and e.g. your dress?

I am assuming the hair is using a shader with specularity? Switch the shader or adjust the spec map texture.

Are u using the shader in every part of the model or just the hair. If so, just change it to the shader for the dress/skin or diffuse

Actually to me it looks like incorrect normals for the lighting, how do you calculate your normals/tangents? Are you using normal maps or something? If the per pixel normal doesn’t have a length of 1 then lighting become incorrect.

Anyways I think it looks awesome, I’d put it in the: “its not a bug, its a feature” category. :stuck_out_tongue:

Found the solution. Thank you to everyone who replied as you were main looking in the right direction.

For some reason some of the hair textures had their shader set to transparent/diffuse. As soon as I switched to diffuse, they worked fine.

At least now I know how to make the hair glow if I need too.
