Godrays?

I am not sure if this is the right section, but is there any way to create fake godrays? I mean the ones that were used in earlier games, where the bitmap rotates towards the player. The pro godrays do not seem to be suable for my case, where I want rays to glow out of a hole in the roof. Thanks for the advice.

Put a texture on a model and have it always rotate toward the player (see wiki for scripts if you’re not sure how to do that).

Ok, Ill try that. Thanks.

The link below will give you exactly what your looking for. It’s tough to do if you don’t have the right skills and materials at hand. This light ray Unity pack has built in scenes so you can see exactly how it works plus it has everything prefabed so you can put it right in your project. I’ve sold this literally 30 times and everyone loves it (That’s why it has a 5 star rating). Plus for the price you won’t find anything better.

Hope it helps, it’ll be the one that says “Unity Light Ray Package”

Omg, you must be kidding… can it really be that someone wants money for these “textures” which you can create very fast in PS?

Yes it can as others aren’t that talented or motivated to do it themself (I’m a 99% programmer, so I would fall into this category too  but I’m lazy and just use the U3 Pro godray thingy ;)))

Be sure to check it out, it’s not difficult, especially the color-blobs are made with create Rectangle, then go to menu Layer → Layer style Blending Options->Gradient Overlay->Style radial. It’s so simple that I’d be ashamed if I were to claim 5$ for each one of them. I am shocked. The principle for the long godrays are the same, you’ll only click onto linear or reflected instead of radial.

Thanks Ik Animation, but I no millionaire. I would rather spend sixty seconds to create such a texture than buy it.

+1 that and some similar images come packed with the lerpz platformer demo, just manipulate them.
Sorry mate don’t mean to cross no lines but 5 bucks for each is too much, perhaps 5 bucks for the complete pack would be better?

Everyone it IS cheap it’s a Unity package $10 for 36 light effect textures. I have the single ones there for people who want to just buy the one they’re looking for. The website won’t let me go any cheaper or I would.

The $10 package comes with prefabs and 3 scenes plus the rotate to camera script I’ve sold it over 40 times and everyone loves it. So are we clear? It really isn’t a rip off you guys arent looking at the Unity light effect package.

It would still be cheaper to create it yourself. But I get it, Activision probably does like your package.
