google analytics in U3

I see that unity editor uses google analytics, for what ?

For the same reason all use it likely: to find out what people use most and what least so bug reports and feature requests can be usefully weighted

Must be very powerful for tuning workflow (GUI), can someone at Unity share sample data to see how relevant it is with my own experience ?

For bug reporting especially its extremely powerfull.

Consider a situation where 10 people report a bug that seems “serious” but where you know that it will be hard to replicate and thus hard to fix.

Just from 10 reports you can’t say anything.

With google analytics in the back you know if 10’000 used the function yet only 10 had the problem → nothing serious
or if only a dozen people really used it → major issue due to the high failure rate

Similar thing on the feature request side. If a functionality is used a lot and many people join in the same feature request or enhancement request on that, you know that the benefit will be much larger and impacting for the workflow than if you add a feature request on something heavily underused at the time. The later might then be scheduled and priorized correspondingly for example unless its naturally a new major feature in which case google analytics is of little to no use (underuse then might even indicate that the current one is that “useless” that people don’t use it - iphone + trail renderer would likely show such a usage statistics)

sample ?
