Google Chrome to incorporate Unity as a natural plugin?

In the Unite 2010 Keynote, I remember hearing something about Google planning to make Unity be a natural plugin.

I personally think that this is a huge step for Unity, and that they should try to get the same recognition from other popular browsers.

Did I hear this wrong? Does anybody have more information?

No you didn’t hear wrong.
But NaCl hasn’t happened yet and the NaCl targeting did neither

Not sure what sodium has to do with this…

The native code layer that Google is working on for Chrome is called Native Client, normally referred to as NaCl

There’s some confusion here. Google is working on a technology called Native Client (NaCl), which allows native code to work secure in the browser. We are working on making Unity’s plugin work via this NaCl thing. So it’s not that “google is going to integrate Unity into Chrome”, but more like “Google is working on a technology that will enable Unity’s NaCl version to work in the browser without installing a plugin”. There’s still some work to do both on our’s and Google’s side to make this really happen.

What about the chlorine, then? Eh?

Personally, I’m going to take this thread with a pinch of salt.
