I got an invite to buy a dev kit and am wondering if Unity will eventually support it? It uses android, requires android 4.0.3 (API 15) SDK and the new Glass Dev Kit Sneak Peak that is required for compiling…wonder how much different it is from the normal adk, or if you could port an adk app to the glass sdk…
Anyone else considering it? $1500 is a lot of money for a dev kit, but it’s Google.
I don’t see it going anywhere. No one likes it now, and I don’t see how that could change; there is literally no reason to wear a big dopey pair of mechanical glasses rather than just carrying a smartphone in your pocket.
Lol trust me. Everyone will be wearing it whether it’s next year or in 2050, it will happen. Also, Google developed smart contact lens. A computer in your contact lens. Wow. Amazing isn’t it. Everyone will definitely wear those
I’m not sure but i’ll tell you this much - I’m working in an oil&gas company and we’re playing with technologies like geolocation, VR and looking into google glass for field techs. So IMO, if O&G industry is playing with it there must be a groundswell already taking place.
Guess where Google glass is now… Some would say firmly entrenched in the innovators step, and not yet enough in circulation for Early Adopters stage.
Personally $1500 is a tad steep for where this product is now in my opinion.
I’m not really sure that will truly happen: whatever the cool tech behind it, it’s too soon to say so. And I definitely hope it will not happen: people are already enough detached from reality with their phones 
I’m insanely jealous, I’ve always wanted a HUD in real life, by dreams aside, we don’t currently have plans to support it.
Only thing I don’t like about Google glass, it’s not discrete enough. I don’t want people looking at me weird. I’d like it to look like normal glasses. I’d love contact lenses Google Glass :3
When unity builds an APK can you edit the assembly in adk (never tried)? I’ve read of people even using phonegap to make an apk they’ve loaded onto glass…
The glass sdk seems to install inside adk as an extension and just add functionality for the glass specific stuff like gestures, voice commands, etc…obviously it’s new so there’s a lot of stuff to work out but it seems like they’re trying to make it as close to developing for android as possible.

I think it’ll be big for certain industries/professions before consumer models become cheap enough for regular people. Having a HUD could be awesome in some cases, plus it has a camera and tons of sensors that can even detect a “wink” vs. a “blink” of the eye.
I would wear on hiking trips to easily take landscape pictures without pulling out the camera every 5 minutes and save the nicer camera for more detailed photos. I’d need lots or HD space and hopefully lots of battery life.
imagine a hunting app where it keeps track of your ammo for you while your shooting like in a game lol
It can use gps data so you could mark locations and view yourself on maps, or track your route. Attribute a screenshot to a real world location, etc
The wink app I saw takes a snapshot every time you wink so you can create a living timeline simply by winking when you want to add a pic.
Also it has a audio detection/voice commands so you could simply use the bullet sound as the event to trigger reduction in bullets.
