Google Sign-in from versions higher than 3.6.x in linux

Hello there,

Since versions 3.6.x of Unity Hub, I can’t sign in with my google account. When I try to sign-in, a new window appears (until 3.5.2 version my default browser was launched but from 3.6.x a different app window appears), I write my google address but neither the return button nor the “Continue” button works so I can’t finish the sign-in process, I’m just stuck there forever. The only workaround for me is:

  1. Install version 3.5.2
  2. Sign in.
  3. Update to latest version
  4. Start Unity Hub (as I’m already signed-in I can use Unity hub normally and even update it if I don’t sign-out).

I have this problem in two different machines, one with latest version of Linux mint and the other with the latest version of Ubuntu budgie.

Best regards,
Raúl

Hi Raul. Thanks for posting. Could you share your info-log.json ?

right click on unity hub tray icon > troubleshooting > open log location

I believe that you may be experiencing a bug with a feature we recently added which tries to fallback to an internal browser if either opening an external browser or checking if the unityhub protocol handler is registered fails.

Hi judesidloski,

Thank you very much for your fast response! I send you attached the log file you asked for.

Best regards,
Raúl

Thank you. I was able to confirm the issue. I’ll make a ticket.

I’m glad to help! I hope it is an easy (and quick) fix

Is there any way I can get a feedback about the status of the ticket?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I’m not sure how to reverse the proper flow from my end to get into the issue tracker – the easiest way would be if you submit a bug report through the hub (can just be a copy and paste of this one) and link this forum thread in it so CQA knows it is confirmed.

Done! Once more, thank you very much.
