I am trying to create a simple Virtual tour with Google cardboard.
I have been successful in most of the parts except the Menu.
I have different thumbnails for menus done.
i would like to lock the camera movement to the horizontal axis when at the menu items. however i am unable to find any solution to it,
Please advice.
Did you make progress on your menu. I am trying to do the same thing with little luck. Thanks!

You have probably figured this out already, just in case anyone else needs it. There is a sample menu in Google Cardboard SDK - https://www.google.com/get/cardboard/developers/.
You can simply use uGUI to build your menus and buttons should work out of the box.
