So the first problem was after I filled out the form asking for how many people on my team what I’m going to use the program for ect. and clicked submit, I got an error that said: “Failure receiving data from the peer.” Googled that, found a solution telling me to add a couple environment variables.
The post you referenced is dated 2011, the license system have been completely revised since then so that post is no longer relevant.
For some reason Unity was unable to reach the license server to authenticate. You can use Unity offline, but you need to be activated on the Unity License server. The normal process involves Unity talking to our servers directly, if for some reason that’s not possible you can use the Manual Activation where you transfer a license request from your workstation to a machine that has internet connection and then transfer the result back to the workstation. The latter can also be used in case of non-standard internet connections/proxies.
Alright, I tried removing the variables and filling out the form again, and I got an error message that it had trouble connecting with the peer, and exited out completely. So I put back in the bad variables and used manual activation, and it works fine now. I’ll still remove those variables now that I’m done though. Thank you very much for your help~
I’m having a similar problem with Lono. I am new to the program and I am trying to activate the free program and a message opened saying “Failure when receiving data to peer”. I close it, it opened again and when I close that window, the whole program closed. SO in general, I cannot use Unity#D at the moment. How do I solve the problem?
