GPU light baking

Looking back at this thread:

It was said GPU baking was planned. 7 months have passed now and I’d like to know if this is still the plan or not. Because I’m finding the bake times on CPU to be frustrating to say the least.

Still waiting on that as well, lightmapping has gotten a lot faster, but its hard to compare the 2-3x faster it has gotten, vs the potential 20-30x faster we could get with gpu baking. Which would only amount to better quality of our lightmaps. But i still have hope that this feature is on its way.

Any chance a staff member could chime in on this?

I also would like to hear some progress on that front. The slow light baking is a major bottleneck for my project right now.
