Hey, whenever I enable the GPU profiler, then compile a script, and then try to use the GPU profiler, it does not show the GPU but the CPU stats in the detail view.
Seems like a bug, it only works correctly after a restart of Unity.
Using 2021.2.19 / HDRP.
bump anyone else is seeing this? still an issue for me in 2021.3.5f1. I need to restart Unity each time I want to do GPU profiling session.
Strange that no one else is complaining about this. I found a workaround which is faster then restarting Unity: Close Profiler Tab, and re-add.
For whatever it’s worth, just ran into this too. (Unity 2022.1.19)
same here. Only occasionally does it show actual gpu usage. on a arm mac with gles 3. unity version 2021.3.8f1
This is still happening in Unity 6000.0.45 …
This is still happening in Unity 6000.0.50 …
I did a bug report back then, which got closed, as it was not reproducible in new projects. Now the bug seems to have become more consistent, and it happens always after exiting play mode.
This costs lots of time, as we always need to close profiler tab, reopen it, and apply the settings again.
If you’ve got a reliable repro for this, please do file a report for it again and we’ll look at it. Feel free to ping here with the IN-xxxx issue ID once you get the reply email for it and I’ll monitor the bug as it goes through the initial vetting to make sure it reaches us.
Done, IN-109726
So the “trick” is to use the search field on GPU profiler. After exiting play mode, it will start to show CPU stats, and this remains until tab is removed and re-added.
Edit: Forgot the ping @MartinTilo
@MartinTilo The issue is in review, and it seems the reviewer was able to reproduce, but than nothing more happened since more than a week, it seem to be stuck in review.
