Grab a scene preview from another scene's camera and paste it into the current scene?

Hi. I’m exhausted right now so I didn’t bother Googling this, so mods, feel free to yell at me for double posting or what such.

I want our Main Menu to have a Level Selector (using the Slider Object) and a preview to the right of the level. I see two ways this can be achieved: Fetched the camera information from the selected level (scene); or just literally take screenshots of each scene and at the end of the production process paste them into the Main Menu with visibility parameter controlled by the slider.

I really want to do it the first way b/c I think that would be cooler, but I’m alright if that can’t be done.

I guess the crux of the question is: I don’t know if a camera “sees” anything about its scene “behind the scenes” (sorry for the pun).

If this can be done, it would also present really cool game design opportunities for Portal-esque meta-physics/graphics, which would be really cool not just for me but the whole Unity game design community.

Bounty: None.

Onstart → 1. LoadNextScene → 2. Snapshot → 3. Save Snapshot → ReRun from point 1. if there is no more levels → Display all the stuff.
Sounds dumb tbh.
What is against making a screenshot if you have a final version?

edit:
P.S.:

not a studio I would take into account if I read the first sentence tho :-/

Thanks. Will take a look at this.
Re second point: Thanks, good food for thought. Presentability and all that. But employees DO suffer from burnout (even if it’s a three-person group) ;).
