Your cubes look OK to me. Don’t expect things to look realistic; expect them to look like a video game.
What do you mean by “I am not able to use them either”?

Says DX10 GPU. 12+ year old computer? The bad appearance of the box in your first image might be caused by this. I’d try the same scene/project on a proper DX11 capable GPU to confirm.
Complaining about poor graphics quality issues and running really old pre-DX11 video hardware seem to go together quite often on these kinds of threads.

Add a nice texture to it. Or add a normal map and a texture to it.
