Greenlight VS Kickstarter?

Hi guys, in your experiences with either Kickstarter or Greenlight would you recommend one over the other?
I’m creating a tribal survival game and am intending on creating a showcase version to demonstrate the game’s features and general aesthetic to the community to gauge both interest and suggestions… For this purpose which would you recommend? Are there any hints or tricks or points of interest I should know?
Thanks in advance

Sure, would you like to know whether you should eat an apple or an orange next too?

Greenlight and Kickstarter aren’t even remotely the same thing.

The trick with both is having a compelling story and some way to drive potential customers to vote/prepay, so why not do both with the same content? I’ve only done Greenlight, and being weak on the self-promotion side I relied entirely on people (like Yogscast) playing and reviewing my existing shipping version, but if all you have is an awesome tech demo that seems to work too if you’re charismatic enough on video (dammit, i have to shave???).

Haha I’m opting for grapes… (Of the sour variety :p)

That’s a good suggestion Waz! I was thinking of which site would get more foot traffic but putting it on both solves the dilemma!
I think keep the beard! I trust a good beard! :stuck_out_tongue:

They’re two completely different things.
Greenlight is the process in which you get accepted onto the steam platform, and Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform.

Usually it goes: Kickstarter → Get Cash to make game → Greenlight to get the game on steam (either in early access, if you still didn’t get it fully done but have a game, or full release).
