Grid in Scene view. Gone?[SOLVED]

I have searched the forums for a thread concerning this, but I did not find a single one. This leads me to believe I am the only one having this problem.

I am missing the Grid in Scene view! It makes it alot harder to orient oneself. I’ve installed 3.0.f1 (though I experienced it on beta builds as well. Post b3 I think) on two machines with the same result. Am I just missing a setting or something. I can’t find anyting in Preferences.

I’m on Windows 7 x64 and Windows Vista x86 so that shouln’t make a difference at all.

Anyone experienced this?

just above the scene view are a few very small buttons and you need to click on the one with the landscape.
that switches the grid on/off

Thanks for the response.

Well, if only it was that easy. I’ve tried that and retried it after your reply, but no luck. There is still no grid…

You could also try placing a game object at the origin, selecting it, and pressing ‘F’ with the scene view focused. (If you still can’t see the grid then, there may be something else wrong. I doubt this would be the problem, but you could check the preferences to make sure the alpha of the grid color isn’t zero.)

The thing that worked for me was to push the “Use defaults” in the Color preference menu. It strange though since I have not adjusted these color until pushing that button. At least not the alpha. Thanks for taking the time.

Pushing ‘F’ worked for me when pushing the landscape button and pushing “Use defaults” in the Color preference menu failed. I have my editor grid again, thanks!

THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME:
Just close the scene tab, then open it again from ‘Window → General’.

Thank you man, i just saved so much time

I had the same problem and all I had to do was equip the move tool and then the option showed up.

This problem still persist in Unity 2022.1.19f1. Using option above → Close Scene Tab → open it again with Window → General → Scene.

What work for me is,
I had changed camera stuff, and back to original setting. I mean don’t change, just change and revert camera.
