Hello everyone,
I wasn’t sure where to post this question so I thought I’d just post it in general.
I’m working on a 3D scene of a sci fi city reminiscent of something out of Blade Runner or Ghost in the Shell. I’m trying to achieve an effect where you are standing on a high building and the base of all the skyscrapers around you slowly disappear into a fog below you, so you can’t really see the ground.
However I’m sort of struggeling with it because I’m quite new to Unity. I’ve been playing around with some of the fog parameters in the lighting tab. However I have some quite high skyscrapers that strecht out above you and I don’t really like the effect the lighting fog has on things that reach into the sky. It looks pretty ugly against the skybox.
So I tried some particle effects but I can’t really get it to look nicely that way either, because my particles seem to start clipping through the geometrie quite a lot.
Its probably worth mentioning aswell that its still much of a prototype, I don’t have my own spritesheet yet.
So I’m just looking for some help. Maybe someone has some experience with something similair, or perhaps a linkt to some good tutorials for creating large fog effects.
In the end I would like a moody stylized 3D enviroment of a futuristic city.
