GUI Glitch

Hi,

I am experiencing a glitch in the GUI that i can’t fix.

The red boxes are the problem.
In my hierarchical view some object can’t be seen and there is a strange grey box in the inspector view.

I have restarted the system but the glitch is very persistent. Any help would be greatly aprecciated.
