GUITexture not accepting a color tint

Hi everyone,

I experience a weird issue when trying to apply a color to a GUITexture object. With some color sets, my original texture remains white, while it is properly colored with other color sets.

  1. In a empty scene, create a new GUITexture object. Set its transform values to 0.5;0.5 so that it appears in the middle of the screen

  2. Assign my texture in attachment to the post to the GUITexture object. It is a simple transparent white spaceship with an alpha layer

  3. In the color inspector, apply color (255,0,0,255) to the GUITexture. The GUItexture appears in red

  4. In the color inspector, apply color (128,128,255,255) to the GUITexture object. The GUItexture appears white, while texts using the same color appear correctly in purple. Playing around with the inspector show that other color sets properly color the ship.

Is it because of my texture file? Maybe Unity does not combine well GUITexture and color tints.

Thanks
Mat

According to our bugs database, it is possible that this is a bug with the colour picker rather than the GUITexture. You may still be able to assign the colour correctly using the eyedropper tool or by setting the RGBA values of the GUITexture’s colour directly from a script.

Hi Andeee,

Thanks for the quick answer.

Actually, I found that issue in my script, but I was happy enough to reproduce it with the editor :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you know if this bug will be fixed for Unity3?

I guess my fallback meanwhile can constit to modify the texture directly and apply the tint programatically.
