The movement/rotation/resize handle is floating some ways above my character’s head (who was made in Blender at the center point). I can click on the Handle Position “Center” button to make it show up in the right place, but my big problem is pressing F to focus on the model still focuses on the spot above his head, so its really hard to move the view around him or zoom in… How can I get the actual handle to be in the right place?
Do you have a bunch of extra unused verticies over the character? That could be the reason for that.
No, there’s absolutely nothing above the character’s head.
Oh, and in my last post when I said Handle Position “Center” I meant Handle Position “Pivot”
Change the view, i had the same problem in my actual project, rotation centers were completely offseted , it was impossible to rotate the scene.
So now when i have that problem i click from Free to Top, then zoom in the scene and everything comes back to normal.
Patricia.
That didn’t do anything…
You say that you created this in Blender at the center point, but is the mesh’s center at 0,0,0? I’d re-open this model in Blender and look for the little “dot” that shows the object’s center. If it isn’t at 0,0,0 then your center is somewhere else. I make this mistake all the time, forgetting that just because I moved the object to the origin in “object mode” doesn’t necessarily mean the object’s center is at 0,0,0.
If this is your problem, a quick fix is to move the 3D cursor where you want the object’s center (LMB in “object mode”) then use Object => Transform => Center Cursor to move the object’s center.
HTH
me too. also failing to apply scale or rotations done in object mode (Object>Clear/Apply>Apply Scale/Rotation).
