Hi guys! This is my first “real” game. This is going to be Update #1 and I have a prototype for you guys to play. But before you play, let me tell you that this is only a prototype! This will not represent final game quality. This is just used for testing, to see what works and what doesn’t. I figured that I can start to build a ‘fan base’ so more people will know about my game.
About The Game
This is going to be a very exciting game! The goal is to infiltrate the building and steal as much as possible. Pretty simple. But it gets a lot more complex! You can choose one of the 4 classes, each with unique play styles and abilities. You can level the character up, buy weapons and attachments, spend skill points on perks, and even utilize several distinct gadgets to spice up the gameplay. This game has a 2.5D perspective accompanied by beautiful cartoon graphics. The game is aiming towards the sorta mindless fun gameplay that a lot of games have today. It’s all up to the player to create their own imagination.

Crazy, explosive action complimented by dubstep
These are some of the ideas. I will give out more information about the game in the next update. I also will reveal the classes along with the special abilities (You DO NOT wanna miss this!)
Anyways, for now play this prototype. It’s nothing big or special. It is just so that you can get a feel of what the gameplay will be like. Everything will be replaced and improved to provide optimal gameplay experience! During the length of the music, hoards of enemies will spawn such as police, SWAT, choppers, K9 units, and all that good stuff. The music will vary a lot and I plan to have tons of awesome shaders to create the most cartoony effect there is!
Controls:
A, D = Move left and right
W, S = Strafe forward and back
Left Shift = Run
Mouse Aim = Point the gun
Left Click = Shoot
Mouse Scroll = Zoom level
In this demo, you need to get to the top of the building and touch the green box (this is representing “stealing from the bank”).
If you kill a guard, then music will play and enemies will spawn. The player cannot die for now but the enemies can.
This sounds a lot like Payday: The Heist and Payday 2. What makes this game different to Payday? I have not tried the demo out yet but I will when I get back from school.
Sorry, I failed to mention something. There are multiple objectives and one of them include robbing the bank (which is shown in the demo). This game wasn’t inspired by pay day, but actually GTA IV online. What makes this unique is the environment, perspective, gameplay mechanics, and the dynamic gameplay which will be shown in the next update. I never played payday and just heard about it a few months ago. Anyways, if you have comments / questions let me know

What don’t you like about the perspective? Is there something I can do to make it better? I am trying to make a perspective similar to games like Thing Thing Arena, if you have ever played that
It’s something to do with the view. You see your character from one side, while you must move in depth (like walking with your side instead of facing the direction you are going) Then again you have to move in the same manner, but up the stairs.
I never played the TTA, maybe that is why for me is off. You should ask more people about this. Maybe it’s only me…
What can I do to fix this? Sorry about the perspective and thanks for letting me know. Should I raise the camera a bit so that you can see more floor? I will add a material to the floor and raise the camera, then I will re - upload for you guys to see. Give me a few minutes
Update: I am uploading the new build for you to try. If you guys still don’t like the perspective, I will change it so that you can only go left and right, without the depth movement. I raised the camera elevation slightly so that you can see the floor more. I also added a material on the floor and decreased the intensity of the sun light.
This is cool! I think I understand what you are trying to accomplish. I can tell this is very very early, so I know this will improve. Keep on working on it and if you actually read through the description of the game, it is really really interesting and it would be something I would play if done correctly. Good luck
Hahah yes I am aware. I have about a year an a half of experience of unity so I consider myself somewhat intermediate. I am not trying to copy payday at all and I want to make it very different. The next update is coming soon and it will show off the gameplay more. Trust me, its going to be really explosive. The action Is inspired by FarCry 3 and the gameplay idea came from GTA 4. Also, I am not an artist so if anyone would like to work on the assets, please let me know. As you can tell, the graphics are pretty simple and unique. Thanks
The idea is really cool. Honestly, I see a ton of potential in this.
But I will say this, the 2d perspective concept is fine, but the fact you can still move in the Z-axis makes it awkward. I get the idea you were trying to go with, but I don’t think it really works out too well. Unless (shot in the dark idea that just came to me) tilt the camera more so it’s a bit of a 2.5D/Isometric point of view (maybe not all the way, but a bit so you get a better sense of depth). That might make it easier.
Just my 2 cents, either way, I say it’s a good idea worth pursuing.

Guys, I just added some major improvements! There is a new enemy type and some sound effects. I will be rolling out update #2 in maybe a few hours if I can. I worked all day! No breaks! Be sure to check soon, cause it is a lot more playable and there is some more action. This update will give you an idea of what I am trying to accomplish and you will realize it isn’t like payday too much. Thanks!
