Kind of pricey but it just might be worth it for those of us still learning the ropes. Check out Unity Games by Tutorials if you already haven’t done so at , https://www.raywenderlich.com/store/unity-games-by-tutorials It claims to teach newbies how to create four complete non-trivial games in a tutorial format covering approximately 600 pages of comprehensive subject matter.
I haven’t had to purchase any learning resources for some time now but out of the books I have purchased a cost of $55 is right around the middle range. That said they are physical books not electronic ones. The electronic editions of the books are usually about two-thirds the cost of the physical editions.
Regardless of price though I’m hesitant to purchase anything online from a website that doesn’t support reviews.
This. I don’t buy many books. But when I do I check out the Amazon reviews. There are plenty of Unity books there.
In any case, I know enough to write a book on Unity. So a beginners book is hardly for me.
Good point about support for reviews; definitely doing more research before buying, thanks! ![]()
For what it’s worth Ray Wenderlich has been making tutorials and writing books for a long time. I remember him from my Cocos2D iOS development days. I’m sure there are reviews somewhere on the internet.
True. He seems to have mostly positive reviews here. https://www.amazon.com/Ray-Wenderlich/e/B005D4YNCY
I wonder why he decided. It to go with Amazon for this one?
