Has HDRP in VR gotten better?

Hi. I tried using HDRP with Oculus Rift awhile ago but it wasn’t really usable, even relatively empty scenes couldn’t hit decent frame rates. Has this improved, is it even worth trying? I got an rtx 3090 so wanted to try it but don’t want to waste my time if it’s the same situation pretty much.

Still seems like it doesn’t work in case anyone else was wondering. Couldn’t even get it to work correctly on rift, was like the eyes were cross eyed or something tried changing settings couldn’t get it to work.

Can you be more specific ? Which version did you try ?

Unity has VR support for HDRP since 2019.4 and no major issues are currently logged.
I encourage you to even try out the latest HDRP template with Unity 2020.2 and HDRP 10.2.

For maximum performance, be sure to choose single-pass instancing on PC and watch out for the resolution of your headset, this is usually what impacts performance the most.

Hi, HDRP works fine on my HP Omen RTX 2070 laptop with Oculus Quest with Link. Baked lighting, of course no raytracing.
