Kind of. Somebody tried to sell me the .com TLD for my web address. Turned out he hadn’t even reserved it yet so I could get it for free through my web space provider anyway. 
On the Asset Store I usually only buy assets which got a number of good ratings to get an idea of the quality of both the asset and the creator’s support.
