I made some trees in max. They’re scaled and positioned properly in space. When I bring them into unity everything seems fine, and if I place them as individual meshes, everything seems fine. But if I make them into adding them as a tree, and using the “Place tree” tool, all of my trees are rotated 90 degrees.
Heres a screen.
It’s not only with this particular tree either, it’s every one I’ve tried so far not counting the default palm tree in unity(which works great).
Youll have to rotate your models in max before exporting (i think its -90 on the X axis) to account for the fact that for some infernal reason Unity decided to use Y axis for up instead of Z axis as commonly found in most 3d apps
I tried your suggestion of rotating the tree 90 degrees, I tried Zeroing the pivot (I thought the place tree tool was using the pivot to place objects) and I tried resetting the xform. So far none of this has worked.
UPDATE***
Tried creating a prefab and messing with the rotation values and still no luck. As a matter of fact, no matter what I do, the trees are still laying on the exact same side. I cannot for the life of me figure this out.
i have the same probm, it alyawas comes, when i m using trees made in unity its very fine but when it comes to max it gives me a pain dont know what to do. plz guys let me know if you get ant sollution thanks.
