I am brand new to unity and came here for having my threat solved which is how can I have real looking graphics…Currently I am using Google sketchup for building up buildings and other things but they are not real good graphics so suggest me another software which is easy to use and develops more good graphics!!
If you want real looking graphics you’re going to have to be familiar with the entire art pipeline, which is a lot more than just importing models from sketch up.
There are useful tutorials in the learn section of this site, and plenty of info online.
I suggest praying to the gods of realistic graphics and presenting offerings to an altar of realistic graphics (the altar should be made only with pbr materials, high quality textures and good UV maps).
Otherwise, you could find a good artist.
Beyond AcidArrows solid and well founded advice - your in the wrong place.
CGTalk and Polycount.org will have better, more in-depth, relevant information for you.
Come back and apply what you learn there.
Making truly realistic real-time graphics is one of the hardest graphics programming problems. It’s FAR easier to go for some kind of stylization.
I’ve spent 2,000 hours to learn Unity Lighting (Mobile only, PC is much easier).
Just needs practice .
A simpler way is to use photogrammetry modeling (Dice,Capcom,L.A Noir). It’s also need practice (You need to modify models).
3D Scan Samples
Photogrammetry is great advice - but only one of many steps required to create a complete - real looking character.
Photogrammetry only looks good in still images - unless the artist has the ability to rig, skin and animate at the same high level. Having ‘realistic’ looking models with only ‘good’ quality animations - will result in the uncanny valley jumping up and screaming “I’m fake and my animations are not great”.
