i currently still learning unity3d, from 2012, im just having trouble what should i do, i cant code my own game now or doing the right coding, i dont know where to start, what to start, what should be focusing first, can i have some advice to pursue a dream to be a game developer with the help of unity3d?

i made some games but i still cant tell my self that im awesome, because of using some plugins… i dont know how to compute something or do the right thing or coding on some method, thanks guys, i love to programming but i also forgot the half of the basics

It’s really hard to tell what you are needing. I mean, first you say “I don’t know where to start”, but then you say “i made some games”.

hehe yes i made some games but im not proud of it because if you tell me to do it again, i just cant because i cant remember or it didnt retain on my head,thats my problem i cant call my self a dev

Well the main thing is to just keep practicing. Don’t get discouraged if your first few efforts are really small and primitive looking; that’s how you learn! I might recommend getting the book in my sig so that you have directed “assignments” to be working on, but really the main thing is to keep making little games over and over and eventually stuff will stick.

@Corvinuz1227 Don’t be so hard to yourself. It’s natural that we tend to forget things, especially if we don’t do something for a while or don’t do it regularly. You don’t have to feel bad about that. The good thing is, that you need much less time to relearn something, than to learn something new from scratch.

To refresh your skills, just open up a project you have done in the past. Browse a bit through your code and assets, and if something catches your attention, just look at what you have done. If you see something you don’t understand any more, try to figure it out. Lookup methods you used and play around. Nothing pushes our retention rate more, than the act of doing.

@marcel-me , @jhocking guys thanks for giving me advice, im ust getting down everytime someone made a new game, simple or not, and here me, not even complete a good game
