HDRP Console Errors

I keep getting the following errors in console, im using HDRP and since I may have a missing asset called HDRP this could be important?, I have reinstalled the High Definition RP package and imported the additional post processing files and Shader Graph Samples to try and recreate the necessary file I may be missing but the errors still persist:

A meta data file (.meta) exists but its asset ‘Packages/com.unity.visualeffectgraph/Editor/Models/Contexts/Implementations/HDRP’ can’t be found. When moving or deleting files outside of Unity, please ensure that the corresponding .meta file is moved or deleted along with it.

Removing Packages/com.unity.visualeffectgraph/Editor/Models/Contexts/Implementations/HDRP because the asset does not exist

Couldn’t delete Packages/com.unity.visualeffectgraph/Editor/Models/Contexts/Implementations/HDRP because it’s in an immutable folder.

I have also tried deleting the .meta file but Unity re-creates it somehow, even though theres no apparent asset TO generate the .meta file it still appears again once I restart Unity.

I havent ever touched these sub-folders before so im not sure why Unity is claiming I deleted the asset…if the asset was deleted surely unity shouldn’t be generating .meta files for something that isnt there?

Update: I started a brand new project using HDRP to check if these errors are there at the beginning and they are not, updating HDRP to 6.9.2 produces this error.

If you haven’t already, it’s usually a good idea in these cases to close Unity, and delete the entire Library folder in the project. That data will all be rebuilt when you reopen the project.

Hi, I just tried this and unfortunately the problem persists, im guessing ill have to wait for the next version of High Definition RP and hope the upgrade solves it :frowning:

Well, the actual errors are related to Visual Effects Graph. Do you have both VFX Graph and HDRP updated to the latest versions?

They were yes, further investigation reveals that downgrading Visual Effect Graph to 6.9.1 eliminates the error, re-upgrading to 6.9.2 creates the error again, so I believe the Visual Effect Graph package upgrade is failing to remove the .meta file in question because of the “immutable folder” status.

Do Unity Support need to know about this as a bug or is there a way around? for now im going back to 6.1.1

I think that if both packages are at their latest versions available in package manager, and this bug occurs, then it’s wise to just submit a bug report in a simple project, to make sure they’re aware.

Ill submit report, thanks for the assistance

I’m having this exact same issue. DoomPriestUK did you have Gaia Pro installed by any chance when the warnings occurred? Its the only other thing I have installed and was wondering if its causing a conflict, but I also can’t figure out how to get rid of the warnings.

I dont have Gaia Pro installed,

I downloaded the newest pre-release engine and the errors disappeared, so im guessing it’s a bug with the engine build.

man what we have to update and how we gona update that please tell me!!!
