HDRP crash when upgrading shaders to new version

unfortunately the bug reporter is also buggy in that it craps out when producing the archive
nice

anyway here is a case # for reference, sans projet

1227091

it dies here

5580019--576190--upload_2020-3-12_2-29-58.png

it shouldn’t be re importing maya files, only upgrading the materials that were already imported.

note: kuddos on whoever added the busy for timer, that takes balls to be this transparent

back to hdrp material upgrade here is what i’m getting
5580019--576196--upload_2020-3-12_2-33-29.png
then if i cancel it by press i get this
5580019--576199--upload_2020-3-12_2-33-45.png
means cancel in every country except in unityland.

so … how do i retrograde to a previous version of HDRP if the project crashes 100% on load?

It’s either trying to access a locked folder or one of the folders it’s trying to compress has a path length of more than 260 symbols (known bug on windows, fix is in review).
