HDRP Smoke Pool

Hiya guys,

I’m looking to make a ‘brine pool’ in the HDRP Pipeline. I’m wondering how I might re-create the ‘smoke’ effect in this image and video.

I can work out generic water and smoke from tutorials, but how would you create something that looks like neither?

Ok, 1st of all, you have a bright light from the exploratory vehicle, pointed down in the night. 2nd the water has a grey/light-blue hue on the surface.

All water shaders/assets (Aquas, R.A.M., etc.) have a “fog” value somewhere. Heres what i would try out. Replicate the lighting (spot light), and use the fog/surface options of the water you use, to create the water hue and look.
Last thing is the “fog/smoke” you mentioned. The fog is a “water surface fog”. You can do this with a volumetric fog. Optimize everything, and press play

Fab! Thanks so much for your help, really appreciate it. Have a great day.
