HDRP StackLit shader - Coat reflections "pop in" at Coat Smoothness values of 0.9

Hi

Experimenting with the HDRP StackLit shader for Clear Coat effect.

However, the clear coat reflections seems to suddenly “pop in” with Coat Smoothness values above 0.9.

See attached image - going from 0.89 to 0.9 makes a lot of difference. I would like to have a smooth transition. Is it possible?

I understand that screen space reflections are expensive - but is it possible to have them at lower Coat Smoothness values, where they would contribute less to the final output. At lower Coat Smoothness values, I seem to get a generic reflection.

Hello,

I’ve seen the same problem with the HDRP/Lit shader. No reflection at all until the Smoothness value is set to 0.9 or higher. Is this a known issue?

I’ve found that I need to add the ‘Screen Space Reflection’ override to the Post Process Volume and set a lower value for ‘Minimum Smoothness’. Hope this helps.
