Health-Lives-Ammo-XP- and advance a level when you gain a certain amount of XP

Hi there we are going to release our new package on the asset store very soon and wanted to know what you all think.

In this package you can

Lose Health
Gain Health
Use Ammo
Lose Ammo
PickUp Ammo
Gain XP
Gain Levels when you have reached the required amount of XP
If you have no ammo you cant shoot
Increase health with levels gained
increase ammo amount with levels gained.
Keeps track of how many enemies there are
if you kill a certain amount of enemies then your XP can increase with every other kill

We are also developing ALOT and we mean ALOT of health,ammo,xp,level, GUI Graphics for this package so you can choose what you like and your set.

will it be free

We don’t know yet there is so much that can be done with this. We don’t know whether to sell it or make it free

Is there anyone else who would be interested in this package? and if so what do you think you would pay for it. Remember put this in your game and it will handle everything from the get go

I would request that the XP system is expandable so that it can take into account various forms of XP gain and apply them to the corresponding elements, this would cater for most RPG’s so your product would reach a wider audience as well.

johnessy looks neat! :slight_smile: I would like to have a “small” version for testing etc. and free for indies maybe… But paid if commercial or 25.000+ earned or something.

What would be really appealing for me is if each component is packaged into a widget (i.e. a health bar with associated script to manage it, ammo bar with associated script, etc).

Having things like “If you have no ammo you cannot shoot” is precisely what I don’t want - instead i’d expect an API to your packaged “ammo widget/component” which allows me to simply check for the current state of ammo and/or register for events associated to that widget such as “OutOfAmmoEvent” etc…

I second what Lypheus said. Personally I wouldn’t want a prefab that would actually dictate how the game behaves itself, but I would absolutely be interested in a group of GUI widgets for healthbars, ammo counters, that kind of stuff. The more the package hooks into gameplay, I think the fewer people will be interested in it because it will conflict with their intent.

Or maybe just 2 packages? One with your “full” changes, and a “light” package with just the gui elements and widgets with attached scripts that designers can hook into.

Can you show some examples of the HUD graphics? I’m actually at the point where I’d like to start plumbing in weapon state for my game and would like a nice bullet silhouette to show above my ammo count.

Wow Thanks guys and we are taking everything into account here. you can enable anything you want in this. If you decide you want to be able to shoot even if you have no bullets just untick the box in the inspector.

As for the lite versions we are thinking about this.

Update GUI.
We have nearly 20 sets of GUI all for FPS and Fantasy games.

We are currently creating the widgets for everything. The XP will be expandable Also.

Also we are busy creating the Fantasy HUD’s and will start on the FPS ones tommorow.

UPDATE: Widgets have all been created and the GUI is still being created. We are trying to create as many as possible to cater for most games needs. Also all GUI files will be PSD so you can change them when ever you like.

A lengthy tutorial has been created also showing you how to implement these into your game and also how to make them all work together. We hope to hear your comments soon (Video Tutorial will also be available)

Get It All has now been sent to the Asset store and should be up soon. The package will be getting updated regularly with new GUI elements.

We have not included all of the GUI as we will add all of them when they are completed to the project free of charge expect to see them in around 5 days.

There will be around 50 silhouette images of firearms including grenades,knifes Plus ALOT more

The package has been split into three sections Health Widget, Ammo Widget, XP Rank Widget, remember the package also deals with lives re-spawn and a lot more.

Also there is a full step by step tutorial on how to use them all separate or add them all as one
