Agreed… as long as your first game isn’t an MMO, and you understand that getting someone else to write your scripts doesn’t happen here… you’ll be fine.
What if your first game is an FPS?
Depends if you have some programming experience or something.
If you know nothing about it then I advice you to make something small.
If only half of the newbies we see on the forum knew that.
(Ironically, my first Unity game is an FPS, but I have years of programming experience. I guess I’m the exception).
Everyone thinks that they are the exception.
Well, I think I’ve been with Unity long enough to know how to code the game. I’m moving at a steady pace, so unlike many noobs, this isn’t going to be a shovelware game.
While its not an ideal first game candidate, it’s nothing near as ambitious or stupid as having an MMO as your first game project.
Especially if you’re 12.

You know… somebody needs to make Shovelware. A MMOFPS… with 40 man raids you need to grind to get the best shovels. Just saying.
