Hello everyone, just wanting to say hi and introduce myself, and I hope this is in the right place as I didn’t see a new members forum.
I’m a 3d artist by profession, though have been making computer graphics of some kind on and off for a lot longer, and I’ve always had an interest in interactive stuff for the internet, having been a user of a couple of other tools before coming to the idea of making games.
Games wise I’ve done some pixel art before, my biggest hobby project being doing a couple of sets of graphics for the original prince of persia (10yrs or so back I guess, available elsewhere), and also made plenty of level sets, most recently a set for the SNES version as that was always the best version for me. I also dabbled in Unreal Editor way back as before experimenting in Unity as I was trying to make a Starwing type of setup. I’ve always liked old games, eg Jet Set Willy, Prince of Persia, Starwing, the original two Monkey Island and Indiana Jones point and click adventure games.
Now I’d like to revisit Unity and the prospect of making some games. As I’m not a programmer or into coding, I don’t expect them to be complicated or fancy. Mostly I have always liked making worlds, layouts and environments, and even though I do 3D all day long for my job, I would say I will have a preference for well done pixel art, or simplified 3D as opposed to photorealistic.
Anyway, I have a lot of reading of forums to do, catching up and learning.
