just thought id drop by and say hello i have been useing the demo and i must say i really enjoy this engine its exactly what i have been looking for. will be picking up an indi licens soon. well soon is reletive but still looking forward to buying it.
finaly an engine that looks good and has a price in my range of buying. i look forward to working with this engine and all the people here.
i acctualy heard about this engine on the tourqe 3d forums. after i had decided to buy that engine. after looking at it i thought it was the eningine i wanted. but then i found this one. and after playing with the demo and some of the tutorials i find it much easyer and faster to learn for prototypeing and finaly building up a game. so this is what i have decided to go with
Firstly, welcome to Unity.
I’ve been using Unity now for about 6 months and must say it is by far the nicest engine I have ever used. I have used so many different engines over the last few years, all of which were competant, but none have matched the workflow pipeline that is Unity. Gone are the days of me having to import assets into 3rd party packages to convert etc.
I have been more constructive in the last 6 months than i have been in the prior 5 years!
Have fun…
Matt.
yah thats one of the features i love about this as im more art then code based. with toruqe i was going to build my game kinda a hack and slash game useing tremors as a baseis for story. the series not the moives as it lays a basis for more different types of if monsters then just graboids, shreakers, and Ab’s. i have no plans of acctualy relaseing it unless i can get a goahead from universal.this is the reason i like the rapid prototypeing this engine seems to support. but it will be just for fun. and to learn the engine. but for now i think ill just stick to running the tutorials.
Welcome, Orin! Great to have you on the forum and I’m glad to hear you are enjoying your first taste of Unity.
honstly i cant wait to dig in deeper. from what i have seen its exactly what im looking for. and the more i learn the more i love it. just wish there was a trail like tourqe use to have with tge where you just basicly use it till you have it down then buy your licenens to publish or what have you. 30 days isnt enough but on the bright side when tax season hits and i get my return ill have the cash to put out for the licens for this and it wont cost me an arm and a leg like t3d would have. this engine is totaly with in my grasp and i cant wait to get ahold of it ^^.
i am excited about this engine.
