Hello everyone. I don’t know how well-known my brother ‘Moldorma’ is, but that’s how I know about Unity. I’m more interested in designing games for Unity than programming them. I would like to model, though right now I have no experience in 3D graphics. My brother Nick and I plan on making and selling games as you might know. I thought I’d join to meet the community that helps Nick so much when he’s coding or modeling.
Hi Chris. Welcome to the forum
cool! a team of brothers, pretty cool! hope you have fun on unity, i know i have. (just don’t expect anything that useful coming from me! )
hehe, my brother doesn’t have the patience.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I’m not sure what game we should make first actually. I was thinking a third person sneaking game reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid would be fun. What do you guys think?
I had the same idea but third person elements are alien to me…
My brother codes. Right now all I do is artwork and designing. I also want to learn to model. For more of a design aspect I was thinking I could do some stuff like a day and night system, setting up listening posts. Stuff like that.
day/night cycle = trouble
trust me: alec has tried, and i’ve watched from my couch while browsing the forums lazily. stuff like that is hard! what artist program are you using? (ZBrush, Maya, mudbox, 3dsMax, what?) my half bro is froming a team when Unity 2.5 comes out.
As I’ve said, I haven not yet tried modeling. But I do like hand-drawing as well as programs like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Hey there and welcome … haven’t we played Traces of Illumination a looong time ago when it was still called JC’s Unity Multiplayer TRaceON?
Well, anyways, welcome to the wonderful world of Unity!
I think we have. Since Nick has been here a while, I’ve played TRaceOn and Mars Explorer and Off-Road Velociraptor Safari along with many other wonderful games. Keep it up everyone
yay!!! compliments!!! most of those are driving games that you listed. is that what you want to do?
Possibly, but I have some other ideas I’d like to try out first. I’m surprised by the lack of 3D platformers I’ve seen. Like Mario 64-esque games.
