So I exported, after setting up my own keystore, to Android with the “Google Android Project” option checked. But I can’t find the APK. So then I tried it without checking that box and just clicked the “Build and Run” option. (I’m using unity 4.6.1). So then it got stuck on the finding devices part, and wouldn’t give me an apk if I didn’t connect a device. I’ve already configured the Android SDK location. What went wrong?
If you use the build and run option you need to have a device connected with a USB to your system only then it will work.

can i use an emulator? If so, what would you suggest?
did you make yourself a developer on your device? Also get the unity remote app and go to project settings> Editor settings> and make your device set to any android device. See if that works.
I got it to work now with Bluestacks emulator. My app: Amazon.com : idyllic run
