im either doing something wrong or have mis remembered feature in previous release.
I need to screen shift the display of the camera without shifting the perspective…im starting to doubt wether it was even possible…but im fairly sure it was? but essentially i need the target to be viewed like it was in the middle of screen…but displayed to the left ( appologies finding it hard to expain). I have tried adjusting screen postion in both postion composer and rotation composer with no luck.
i hope there is a way, i loved that feature!..if indeed it was ever a feature.
thanks in advance.
to clarify further, this is what i want to see
You will get what you’re looking for if you use an orthographic camera and a PositionComposer.
If you don’t want an orthographic camera, then you can use a physical camera with lens shift.
thanks Gregory, i dont want a isometric camera. Still cant get what i want with the physical camera ( i do want to use cinemachine.) I will try on an old unity to see if did jsut imagine…this whole screen shift thing.
to confirm. this screen shift ( while keeping perspecitve as if it was in the middle of camera) was never possible. Will look for another solution, was hoping to avoid render targets. Many thanks for your time.
in fact, your Physical camera and lense shift works, perfectly. was hopeing to still use cinemachine, but no real need. cheers.
Cinemachine supports physical camera, and you can set the Lens Shift on the Cinemachine Camera:
ooohh, brill! i did not know i coudl still do the lens shift. Fantastic.
