Help: Error "Connection reset by peer"

Hi there,

Trying to create a Plastic SCM workspace for my project, but it keeps failing with a “Connection reset by peer” error. Any advice?

I’m on a Mac, Unity v202.3.21f1. Wifi connected. Version control package is up to date.

The only thing I could find online was here Reddit - Dive into anything, but the instructions are only for PC, couldn’t figure out a Mac equivalent.

Tried installing the Plastic SCM Mac clients, and ran into similar issues.

Thank you!

The instructions mentioned in your linked article mention Linux but I found the .conf file in the same location on my Mac, if it helps. https://plasticscmsupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009028194-Performance-improvement-Use-multiple-threads-for-the-Update-and-Checkin-operations

Ah, indeed it is.

Ok, so I opened client.conf. Looked for the variables they mention, didn’t find them in the file. Added them to bottom of the file. Tried opening Unity and creating a workspace—same “connection reset…” error.

Found error logs in .plastic4 > logs > unityplastic.debug.log.txt. The first error reads “ERROR PlasticPipe - There was a problem reading response code for CheckRepositoryExists from OMOTF@cloud. The remote host closed the socket”.

Is it a credential problem?

Hi,

Do you have any network or firewall limitations that could be preventing to connect to the Plastic Cloud server?

In the www.plasticscm.com → Cloud panel, do you have defined any “Network allow list” that could prevent your machine to connect to the server?

Regards,
Carlos.
