HELP!! Failed running il2cpp.exe, can't build apk for google play

Please help me I’ve been racking my brain for days trying to build a simple Android build to meet the 64x requirements of Google play. I just keep getting; Failed running C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2018.2.12f1\Editor\2019.2.4f1\Editor\Data\il2cpp/build/il2cpp.exe

I have tried everything under the sun that I’ve found through forums, but nothing works. Here are the errors I receive trying to do an empty build, just to prove it’s not a problem with the build itself.

It looks like Unity and il2cpp.exe cannot locate the Android NDK. You will need to have the Android NDK installed in order to build with IL2CPP for Android. Please install the Android NDK using the Unity Hub, and check Edit > Preferences in the Unity editor to ensure the editor is using the proper version of the NDK.

Thanks for replying @JoshPeterson , I managed to get it working by

  1. uninstalling any sign of unity or android from my computer.
  2. reinstalling everything.
  3. installing 2019.3.0b3 and updating my project
  4. replacing the jdk with jdk1.8.0_202
  5. updating my sdk build-tools to 29.0.2
  6. using the installed sdk, gradle, ndk

I am now getting a bizarre problem when Vuforia is enabled, which causes a new error. I’ve tested it on a blank project, building successfully, enabling vuforia, and then getting a build failure.

I am trying to distribute a new version of an AR app, so I need Vuforia to be working. :frowning: Here is my build error now.
