Hi, ive made a complex character in 3ds max and attached it all for one object. I exported it to unity but it wont show because its exceeded 65,000 Verticies. The only way i can make my model show in unity is if I leave everything detached, however I cannot do that because I must attach everything to make a bone based animation…
Does anyone know if theres a way to pass this, bcuz it would be REALLY helpful for me now and in the future… I cant afford to make another model under 65000 vertices…
Yeah well sadly I went over with all my objects, putting insane amount of verticies per shape, but im taking your advice eric to split it all up into small peices, it can still work with my bone based animation.
I had another question, I have to make animations for each different thing liek jumping, walking, etc etc… i need files liek name@walking.max, how do i make those? I know i have to animate frame by frame, but im not familiar with making those files and exporting them to unity.
If you can place all your animations in the one file, you don’t need to do this at all. The “model@animName” convention is designed so that several animations can be defined on the same object from separate files. The only thing you need to do is change the filename - the part before the @ is the model name, the part after is the name of the animation sequence contained in the file.
