Hi, My name is Aaron Victoria, and I’m the Lead Designer / Creative Director for a small independent game development company (SC Studios). The game is currently in the prototype phase, far from the more developed alpha that we plan to have prepared over the next few months, but I wanted to know what people thought about the game titles that have surfaced. I have written this game over the last 3 - 4 years, and I want to share the concept of the story so that you can be a better judge of title you think fits best.
The game takes place in the year 2096, a time fueled by technology and digital advancement. During this time a company develops a robot capable of operating very much like a human, able to think logically and independently. Over time companies decided to buy robots for certain jobs to lowering spending on human salaries. As you can image this caused a massive uproar over time. Before long society started to suffer as these robots became the premiere choice for profit hungry business owners. Before long the manufacture of the robots begin worldwide marketing, only to face the scrutiny of the American and Canadian governments. Rebellious, they defied jurisdiction, and began global distribution. This was the ultimate choice that led to the great war of technology. No one was aware that the company had remote control of these robots. When the war began, they then turned the robots into killing machines. In the chaos the people of society was left with no place to run and no where to go. So they turned to a group of vigilantes who called themselves “THE FIGHTERS”. These brave individuals became know for their unique skill sets and battle prowess. With the help of the people these FIGHTERS plan to rid the world of this global threat by locating and destroying the central command quarters once, and for all.
Thanks for reading I know that was pretty long. My original name when sent off for my copyright was Fighter | Technology and Fighter’s “Technology”. I’ve had mixed opinions on the title as well as a few ideas thrown here and there. The current working title is project 11. I thought the name fit because the game featured revolved around the “FIGHTERS” and there war against “TECHNOLOGY”. I also thought that using the name FIGHTERs | ***** could open avenues to build on the franchise for future titles like FIGHTERS | NEW WARS … or FIGHTERS | NEXTGEN… something of that effect. I really appreciate the time taken to read this as well as your contribution to the poll. We will be very active in the Unity community over the next few months as we focus on public suggestions. Project 11 was the codename for the robots lethal Ai programming. Once Project 11 was initiated the story really took off. I actually like the name Project 11. I should have added that. The game has a really unique concept as well. I’m a big fan of retro games and I am also a music composer and programmer. I have incorporated 8-bit and 16-bit sounds into the soundtrack and the games mechanics are a crazy mix of retro fighters with rpg elements. It’s been called the child of streets of rage and mass effect. You see a lot of side-scrolling action with futuristic rpg detail. I’m glad to finally be getting public input. I can’t discuss too much, but when the game is nearing launch we will be all over the unity forums. I have also always been a fan of the sci-fi/tech realm. It looks like quite a few people like Tek Fighters. I thought it would sound like robots fighting when the name was first introduced.

I actually like that spelling Jx. Yes, my signature is based on the Mass Effect Theme. It is one of my favorite games and has inspired many of the futuristic role playing ideas found in our game. Any fans of the side-scrolling beat em up genre? Streets of Rage fans anyone?
Might want to stay away from the Tek/Tech/War/Wars combinations. There’s already an established Sci-Fi franchise(books, video game, etc) with that name.
That’s what I thought as well. I wanted to take contributions from the team and see what people thought about them. So far it seems like Project 11 is really getting the majority of the votes and it’s not even on the poll hahaaaa. So is anyone a fan of the side-scrolling beat em up genre?
