Help Needed: Connecting Unity Analytics with Snowflake

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to connect Unity Analytics with Snowflake but keep encountering the error message: “Unfortunately we could not process your request.” I have followed the guide in Snowflake’s documentation meticulously, ensuring that the Account Locator is correct. Has anyone else experienced this issue recently? Is the connection process broken at the moment, or am I possibly missing something?

Additionally, I’d like to make a feature request: It would be incredibly helpful if Unity would allow a raw data export that doesn’t rely solely on Snowflake for data access. Having multiple options for data export would greatly enhance flexibility and ease of use for developers and I believe also scale consumption. It’s a real bummer that the barrier is so high.

Thanks in advance for your help and feedback!

Edit: We are using a Snowflake trial account, should that matter somehow.

Hi @DrZwieback,

Thanks for sharing your feature request on Analytics data export; I have added it to the feature request list. You can add additional feature requests using the ‘Submit a new idea’ form on the Analytics Product Roadmap page.

Regarding your Snowflake connection issue, the most common problem that people encounter is the Account Locator value. The Snowflake UI has several IDs; the attached image shows which one is correct; it is marked in green.

You also need to ensure that your Snowflake account is in one of the two supported GCP regions (GCP EU-WEST4 or GCP US-CENTRAL1)

Finally, please check if your browser has an Ad Blocker or other extension activated that might be causing the issue.

Finally, if you are still having issues, please submit a support ticket through the Analytics support form and share a screenshot of your Data Access configuration panel, a screenshot of your Snowflake Account Locator from the Snowflake UI and a link to your project in the Unity Dashboard. Please also share the contents of the error message from the Browser Console.
