Hi everybody,
new guy here.
I’m a 3D artist & junior Unity developer, and I’m trying to create an animated shader in Shader Graph (using Unity 2019.2.12f1) to emulate a reference I saw online.
Here is the picture:
You can also see the reference’s movement at the following link:
Scroll down almost to the button and play the video:
what I’m trying to achieve is what is shown from second 00:02 to 00:04 of the video.
I managed to create a primitive working shader but I’m not happy with the result, and I need your help to tweak it to make it more similar to the reference.
I created a two-sided, transparent, PBR shader with Metallic workflow and Alpha blended, and given it to a Plane with many subdivisions.
I have attached the nodes linked respectively to the Position, Emission and Alpha channels.
Position: I created the “waving” effect this way.
Emission: I’m using a simple black texture with a white line in the middle for the emission.
Alpha: this is the opacity channel. Everything is multiplied with the “vertical displacement” value (to make the lower point of the mesh less visible) and then also multiplied with the texture I was telling before.
Here is a picture of my actual progress, in which you can also see the properties in the Inspector and the Emission texture I am using:
I will try to post a video as soon as I can.
Can you help me? Any suggestion may help me a lot!
Thanks!
E.
