So, I’ve been developing my first game (for Android), and I’m 98% done making the game. One major thing I have left to do is deciding a title/name for my game.
Here are a few screenshots for reference as to what my game looks like:
These are the titles/names I’ve thought of so far:
Title # 1: Turdle Escape
Description #1: Turdle broke out of his prison shell, and now he is wanted by the crab guards!
Title #2:Turdle Dreams
Description #1: Turdle has a dream of making it to sea; his peers doubt him. Will you help him?
Description #2: Turdle has a dream of making it to sea. Will you help him?
Title #3:Turdle Underdog
Description #1: No one believes Turdle Underdog will make it to sea. Do you?
Title #4:Help A Turdle Out
Description #1: Help Turdle the sea turtle get to sea!
Title #5:Runaway Turdle
Description #1: Turdle has decided to run away from his beach home to live a new life at sea.
Title #6:Turdle Dodge
Description #1: Help Turdle the sea turtle dodge crabs on his way to sea!
Title #7:Turdle Quest
Description #1: Turdle the sea turtle has a quest to get to sea!
These titles/names and descriptions are corny and lame, but were the only ones I could think of.
Please give a look at the titles/names and descriptions and tell me which one(s) seem good or okay.
Turdle may be his name, but that’s not going to be obvious from the app’s listing. Most people are going to assume it’s a misspelled attempt at Turtle and potentially judge the quality of the game on that alone. And as other’s have pointed out, you’re willingly putting the word “turd” in your game’s title, so be prepared for an unfavorable review or two of people just grabbing that low-hanging fruit.
If you really want the focus to be on the branding of the character and promoting that, I’d recommend making it possessive, like “Turdle’s Escape”. And definitely make the icon be the turtle’s face to further drive the point home that Turdle is the name.
