Hello guys, my name is Andrii and i’ve started learning work in Unity. My work stopped on a stage of installing application because of a problem. Actually problem is not in installing, but launching it. I’ve installed it on disk “D”, is it important?
And i disk “C” with operating system has only 25 Gb free space( from 97,5).
When i launch it, starts 1-st window with projects, if i choose new or existed project- starts launching, but after few seconds appears window with error.I’ve had the same problem with different other versions ( older) of this program, just 1 of them went to main menu, but it told me to download update, i’ve done it and after install i got the same thing.
Direct X 11, Microsoft Visual CC++ 2015 , Dell Vostro 3700 2.67x2,66 Intel Core i5 CPU, 6 gb operative memory, win7 64x and video memory about 1 gb Intel R + Nvidia. Maybe laptop is too weak or what is going on with it…
Please help me with this, want to study game making and it is a big failure on a start(
Did you try install Unity 2017, or 2018?
The entire Unity 5 line is no longer supported. As a new user you should be starting with nothing older than 2017.4.x LTS unless you are trying to run a tutorial created for Unity 5.
If you need help with an error, you obviously need to say what the specific error is. Don’t make people guess. 25GB is not a lot of free disk space by the way. Might as well be zero with modern applications. Should free up some space.
Thanks for answering, downloaded latest version and it works.
Just to be aware as beginner, avoid alpha or beta versions, to avoid confusion and issues.
Some older tutorials may not work with news version of unity. Something to keep in mind.
Latest Unity Hub “hides” them by placing them at the very bottom of the window.
Oh good to know. Finally ![]()
Thanks for advise, i will keep it in mind.
