help with Serializing private vars...


I am creating a script that scales particleFX. I have some problems though.

To make the scale work I have to have backup vars for all the values on the particle emitter..

So I need them to be serialized.. My question is what is the deference between this:

private var someVar : float[];

and this:

var someVar : float[];

they both seem to do the same thing...

Serializing the var seems to only make it public.


It does not make the variable public (please post in a comment why you think it does). It does make the variable visible in the Inspector, but you can stop that with an additional


if you want. A large portion of the variables in the scripts I write use both of these attributes together.
