I’m not looking for full code. Just some ideas on how to get these effects. I don’t have a clue where to start and I’ve done a lot of searching around. I’d like to have “preferably” an image based particle system map to the terrain similar to the pictures below. The best I can do right now is hover it slightly over the top but it won’t follow the topology of the terrain. Thanks!
EDIT: this is in reference to a target or box around an item, while following the heightmap of the terrain.
Another EDIT: I just read that this could be done with decals. I don’t have a decal asset and maybe it’s time to invest in one. As long as it’s not resource heavy, I could put different decals on a timer and animate it. Is this the proper way? Or should I say most proper?
